After prolonged Southerly winds coupled with storm surf and surge tides in early July of 2024, the Sheffield Beach beaches were subject to large scale erosion which undermined and scoured away existing frontage embankments belonging to long standing private homes along Hewitt Drive.
Emergency repairs were required to prevent further erosion and embankment collapse. Sycor Construction consulted with Gilbert Geosynthetics and a repair system incorporating the GeoRock Sandbag was decided upon.
